Android 17 adding a Contacts Picker to share only specific contacts is a meaningful privacy upgrade. Fine grained permissions reduce data exposure and make the platform, not each app, the gatekeeper. Execution will decide the outcome, developers must adopt it and UX must be seamless. Privacy by default will be a decisive competitive edge.
